Each year around 5,000 Australians leave the Australian defence force. These Veterans have valuable skills that are in high-demand, and often find it challenging to engage with the civilian workforce when seeking employment. Providing a clear pathway from their career in Defence to Canberra’s Defence Industry organisations was identified as a way to ease the recruitment pressure facing Canberra’s defence sector.
The ACT Government engaged Pragma to run a Defence Industry Event to connect Defence Industry employers with Veteran candidates. We developed a high-level engagement strategy to maximise attendance and exposure for relevant attendees. Detailed planning and the development of a range of products, including marketing material, social media creative and government briefing packs, ensured the smooth running of the event.
Pragma worked with Ironside Recruitment focused on creating a bespoke and targeted event to offer the most benefit to attendees. The evening included both unstructured networking as well as at least three speed-interviews for interested candidates with business offering active job opportunities.
